My Start at Podcasting Featuring my Favorite Episodes

The Happy Cactus Club - Alisa Manjarrez - Podcast Producer.jpg

Editor’s note: I love it when people fearlessly jump into a new project where they need to learn things from scratch. Alisa dove head first into producing podcasts. Now that she has honed some skills thanks to the Color Forward Podcast, she continued the momentum, this time with her brother on the Sincerely Though Podcast. Take a listen to either (preferably both) podcasts to audibly meet inspiring women and catch some life-changing info. We’ve included some great episodes to start off with. - Nathalie Peña

When Rosa Santos and Merary Simeon, both executives at a Fortune 50 company, came to me wanting to see more women of color advance in the workplace, I replied with a resounding “yes!” We talked about creating a multicultural women’s leadership conference, and then more and more. We realized that this was actually a movement. So we got to work with the first step of our plan: Color Forward, a podcast highlighting successful women who have overcome cultural barriers and mastered the art of resilience.

Here are a few of my favorite episodes from Season 1:

After moving to Los Angeles from Fresno, California, my brother Michael (a wealth adviser) and I would keep in touch by talking about wine, cocktails, and whatever Netflix shows we were watching. Then we’d get into more serious topics like investing in the stock market, how to deal with unemployment, goal-setting, and more. We thought, we should share this with everyone! So we created Seriously Though, a podcast about succeeding in life and at work.
